Position: Two fountains positioned towards east and west ends of the public square.

Additional details: Central fountains designed by Edwin Lutyens and were added in 1845, and the mermaids, dolphins and tritons (which are the male figures with tails like fish) were installed later. Merman in outbasic of west fountain by Sir Charles Wheeler. Mermaids in/out basin of east fountain by Sir William MacMillan. Matching fountains replaced earlier designs by Sir Charles Barry. Both have circular pedestal design set in larger quatrefoil basins (by Barry).
