PETERBOROUGH’S new fountains were turned off at the weekend after suffering teething troubles.
The water feature in Cathedral Square had to be switched off on Saturday – less than a week after being turned on – after suffering a loss of pressure.
A spokeswoman for Peterborough City Council said: “The fountains stopped working at about 2pm on Saturday and we called in the company that installed them to assess the problem.
“It was discovered that the problem was a loss of pressure.
“As the fountains are new we expected a few teething problems, however the issue was quickly rectified.
“The fountains were restored to full working order on Sunday.”
